Welcome to the new Blahoe - All About Lake Tahoe
Connecting with nature at Alpine Meadows since opening day
“Skiing is this connection with nature like no other that I’ve experienced.” -Hoop
Alpine Meadows General Manager Kent “Hoop” Hoopingardner has been a leader in the ski industry for the last 47 years and part of the Alpine Meadows and Homewood family since 1996. Hoop’s been GM of Homewood since 2007, and this year he took over here at Alpine Meadows too.
There aren’t many people around any more who skied the very first opening day here back on December 28th, 1961. But you’ll find them, along with Hoop, hanging out on the deck in the sun and tearing down the bowls on powder days. They keep coming back. Hoop has pioneered ski resorts in the Wasatch and Tetons and has once again come back to Tahoe.
